ITINERARY:

Monday

You will be met on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and transferred to Arusha. Private, one way transfer.

Accommodation at The Arusha Coffee Lodge in a plantation room on a bed and breakfast basis for 1 night.

Lying on the gently rolling foothills that cascade down from the ever-present Mount Meru is the bustling and vibrant town of Arusha.  It is here, on the outskirts of this town, hidden amongst on of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations that you will find Arusha Coffee Lodge, a perfect haven for relaxation either before or after any African safari.

The homely feeling of the lodge is by no means accidental as the origins of the homestead continue to emit glimpses of times-gone-by.  The friendly and personable staff help create an ambiance than continues to draw appreciation from all those who visit and stay.

Within the main Plantation House resides an “a la carte” restaurant, an intimate bar and a cosy lounge, all of which possess inviting open log fires that will fill the cool night air with a comforting warmth and a welcoming glow.

With two boutiques, an enclosed and intimate swimming pool, and a popular garden terrace, Arusha Coffee Lodge encourages exploration and discovery at every turn.

From the industrious coffee pickers gathering in the harvest to the aromas of the morning brew emanating from the main Plantation House as breakfast is being prepared, Arusha Coffee Lodge is full of sensory experiences that revitalises the body and soul for the adventures and excitement that lie ahead.

The Plantation Rooms are nestled amongst the Burka Estate coffee bushes, each possessing a welcoming open log fire and all adorned by comfortable and homely furnishings.  The Plantation Rooms include bathrobes and slippers, in-room electronic safes, mini-bar (stocked on request), in-room log burning fire, internal telephone system, and tea and coffee making facilities.

Tuesday

You will be transferred from Arusha Town to Arusha Airport. Private, one way transfer.

Fly from Arusha to Kogatende.

Baggage allowance is 15 kgs checked in and 5kgs hand luggage.

On arrival you will be met and transferred to our camp – shared.

Accommodation at Serengeti North Wilderness Camp in a tent on a game package full board basis including all meals, drinks (local wine / beer and sodas) and 2 scheduled game drives per day in a shared vehicle for 4 nights.

Located in the northern part of the Serengeti National Park, not far from the Mara River, lies Serengeti North Wilderness Camp. Typically open from July to October to coincide with the dramatic river crossings for which the Serengeti is famous, the camp offers guests a simple yet comfortable stay. This is a beautiful area – a mix of gently rolling hills and riverine forests, broken by small rivers and occasional granite outcrops and ‘kopjes’.

This intimate eco-friendly camp offers ten spacious canvas tents with solar lighting  and en-suite facilities, including a flush toilet and bucket shower, ensuring due respect for this fragile eco system. Each tent has a shady private veranda where guests can relax over a drink or book, or simply enjoy the bird and animal life passing by their doorstep. The central dining tent complements a cosy lounge tent which includes a well-stocked bar, reference library and a selection of board games.

Sundowners are typically enjoyed around a crackling campfire whilst sharing the days’ experiences with other guests, and your safari chef here is renowned for his freshly prepared, tasty meals. It’s not often one gets to be this close to nature, and drifting off to sleep with the sounds of the wild African bush surrounding you is an experience you won’t soon forget!

Wednesday & Thursday

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives (scheduled game drives in a shared vehicle)

Experience thrilling game-viewing where the challenge of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Guests booking a game drive package will enjoy game drives in one of the safari vehicles stationed at our camps, led by an experienced guide. This vehicle is not a private vehicle and will be shared with other guests at the camp. If you prefer a private vehicle, an upgrade is available for an additional fee. Bottled water is supplied.

Saturday

You will be transferred to the airstrip – shared.

Fly from Kogatende to Kilimanjaro.

Baggage allowance is 15 kgs checked in and 5kgs hand luggage.
